XFire+JMS; Yay ActiveMQ

June 29th, 2005

Thanks to the help of Hani Suleiman and Hiram Chirino, I got an XFire JMS transport working yesterday (having zero JMS knowledge the day before). Check it out if you’re at all interested in a reliable transport for SOAP. I’ll try and get some docs up in the next couple days which shows how to use ActiveMQ’s Spring configuration and XFire’s Spring configuration together.

As a sidenote, let me add that Active MQ rocks! Not only is it “crazy fast” as James says, its “crazy easy” too. I was to embed it into a test case with about 5 lines of code. Definitely check it out if you have a need.

    hi there,

thanks for the post. will keep looking for updates.

activemq : it’s a good product but lacking documentation. i tried using it about a year ago but the lack of documentation came in my way. Support is decent though.

You must have been at the presentation on Tuesday. Very cool sounding stuff. I can’t wait to get home to try it out. You can’t go wrong with “Crazy Fast”. James and his cohort Hiram are also super nice guys.
