JavaZone – REST vs SOAP smackdown

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Tomorrow I’m headed to Oslo, Norway for the Javazone conference. I’m really looking forward to this conference. Not only does JavaZone have a pretty good reputation, in a country that I’ve been wanting to visit! I’ll be giving a talk leading a discussion entitled “REST vs SOAP Smackdown!” The title is something I lifted from a JavaOne talk called “Web Framework Smackdown.” My desire is to have a rousing discussion on the merits of SOAP and REST to try and elucidate any differences and common ground. This is a new style of talk for me (which I’m a teensy bit nervous about), but I think has the potential to be way more engaging than normal presentations.
If you’re going to be around at the JavaZone conference and want to meet up, send me an email – dan AT netzooid.com. Also, for any Londoners, I’ll be around London the day of the 16th. Looking forward to seeing a lot of you there!
